Our unique shopping experience offers a diverse selection of gently used men's, women's, and children's clothing, accessories, shoes, and gift items. On the first Friday and Saturday of each month, we hold a Basement Sale, where shoppers can discover hidden gems at unbeatable prices.

Beyond retail, the YWCA Past & Present plays a vital role in supporting the community. Clothing from the store is provided free of charge to YWCA program participants, ensuring that everyone has access to essential items. 

 

Donations of clothing and other items are always welcome, and volunteer opportunities are available for those who wish to contribute to this worthwhile cause.

Proceeds support the operations of the YWCA Shanklin Center for Senior Enrichment, a small community of full-time subsidized independent living and handicap-accessible apartments for victims of elderly abuse, and our Alicia McCormick Empowerment Homes, a transitional housing program for women and children consisting of ten apartments that provide up to 24 months of housing and support services, helping individuals rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness due to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking.

 

As Kanawha Valley's first transitional housing program of its kind, the YWCA Alicia McCormick Program relies on the revenue generated by Past & Present to continue offering these essential services.
